The roof for the Harbor Lifestyle Mall is a perfect example of a multi-material project that balances functionality, design, environmental behavior, and price. Due to geographical location and sun radiation study, a decision was taken to combine innovative ETFE material and translucent PVC fabric to create shaded and clear spaces at the same time. The interior climate can easily be controlled as the structure has a fully enclosed perimeter, white PVC fabric material reflects sunlight and ETFE double-layer air cushions block UV radiation. Another benefit of using transparent ETFE material is savings from decreased interior lighting time during the sun hours as the interior volume is full with natural sunlight

 
 
 

El techo del Harbour Lifestyle Mall es un ejemplo perfecto de un proyecto de varios materiales que equilibra el diseño, la funcionalidad, el comportamiento ambiental y el precio. Debido a la ubicación geográfica y el estudio de la radiación solar, se tomó la decisión de combinar material innovador de ETFE y tela translúcida de PVC para crear espacios sombreados y claros al mismo tiempo. El clima interior se puede controlar fácilmente ya que la estructura tiene un perímetro completamente hermético. El material de tela de PVC blanco refleja la luz solar y los cojines de aire de doble capa de ETFE bloquean la radiación UV. Otro beneficio del uso de material transparente de ETFE es el ahorro de la disminución del tiempo de iluminación interior durante las horas de sol ya que el volumen interior está lleno de luz solar natural.
