The so-called "sculptural exoskeleton" is a coating that is solved with using a parametric software to manufacture 1,380 tempered glass pieces with direct printing, and on whose sides the appreciable constellations seen in Guadalajara are projected from the North Hemisphere.
The pieces are supported by steel bars, with 5 different heights distributed randomly, resting on 722 metal nodes, all different, and with integrated lighting at the center of each of them.
All these components have a unique and serialized nomenclature code that makes its location possible and facilitates the assembly sequence.
Architect asked to give a solution for the sidewalk and the main problem was that we had to give a solution for a flat structure, the main request was to avoid any double curvature, as a result, we designed a repetitive panel with translucent PVC Serge Ferrari 902 S2 and Frontside FT 38 combined to have sun and rain protection.
To make the flat membrane solution work, we added weight to deform the membrane and give a fourth point to the shape so the final result is elegant, simple and functional
